These factors have a more significant effect on insulating materials than other materials. It can be said that insulating materials are more sensitive to these factors and are prone to deterioration and damage to electrical equipment. Therefore, insulating materials are the key materials that determine the reliability of motors and electrical appliances. There are many classifications of insulating materials. According to chemical composition, they can be divided into organic insulating materials, inorganic insulating materials and composite insulating materials; according to source, they can be divided into natural insulating materials and synthetic insulating materials; according to heat resistance grades, they can be divided into 7 heat-resistant grades; classified by physical state, it can be divided into gas insulating materials, liquid insulating materials and solid insulating materials. Gas insulating materials include air, carbon dioxide, sulfur hexafluoride, etc., and liquid insulating materials include mineral oil, synthetic oil, Vegetable oil, etc., solid insulating materials include mica, plastic, glue, insulating varnish, etc.
1: Gas insulating material
  • Air insulation material. The electrical and physical properties of air are stable, and air is widely used as an insulating medium in electrical switches.
  • Sulfur hexafluoride insulating material. Sulfur hexafluoride is an inert gas with good insulation properties and arc extinguishing properties. It is mainly used as an insulation medium for power transformers, capacitors, and enclosed combined electrical appliances.
2 Liquid insulation material
  • A Mineral oil insulation material. Mineral oil includes transformer oil, capacitor oil, cable oil, etc.
  • B Synthetic oil insulation material. Synthetic oil is a chemically synthesized insulating oil, mainly including polybutene, methyl silicone oil, benzyl silicone oil, etc.
3 Solid insulation
  • Insulating paper.
  • Insulation paper mainly includes two categories: plant fiber paper and synthetic fiber paper. Plant fiber paper includes cable paper, capacitor paper, telephone paper, winding paper, etc., and synthetic fiber paper includes polyester fiber paper, polyamide fiber paper, and the composite insulation paper with insulation films.

  • Insulating varnish is divided into impregnating varnish, silicon steel sheet varnish,  coating varnish and enamel varnish according to its purpose.
